From a picture to a slide
A picture good enough to present rarely arrives in one ask. This recipe gets there in three small moves: generate, fix the one part that is wrong, then file the result into a deck — without ever regenerating the parts that already work.
The ask
Make me a clean hero illustration for my landing page — describe your product or scene here in one sentence — with a single clear subject, soft morning light, and empty space on the right for a headline. No text in the image.
Each part earns its place: one clear subject gives the model a composition to commit to, the mood words set the palette, and “no text in the image” heads off the most common thing you would otherwise have to edit out. When the picture is close but one part is wrong, do not regenerate — select that part and ask for the change:
Make the sky darker and stormier.
The selection scopes the edit to what you meant, and Vresk adds the keep-everything-else instruction for you. The same idea works on the whole picture: “same scene, but at dusk” changes the light and keeps the composition you already approved.
What comes back
The picture appears in the thread with two controls in its corner: Select an area and Use in a deck. Drag a box (on a phone, tap one of nine areas), type the change, and a new picture arrives — the original stays in the conversation, so an edit is never a gamble.
Use in a deck lists the decks in this chat that have a slide with a picture slot. Pick a slide and the image becomes part of the deck — undoably, like any other deck edit. If there is no deck yet, Vresk says so: ask for a deck first, then come back to this image. See Images and files and Decks and documents for the full picture.
Two honest limits
Make it yours
- Swap the subject and mood for your own — name what the picture is for (a slide, a header, a poster) and what must not be in it, in plain words.
- Iterate by region rather than starting over: each scoped ask keeps everything that already works, so the picture converges instead of wandering.
- Build the deck first if you know the destination — ask for the presentation, then generate the picture in the same chat, and the deck will be waiting in the picker.
